I’m sure there was nothing wrong with my ovum as there are no innate illnesses that have become apparent in our family, and we have a large family spread out now around the world. It must have been a genetic mutation or something in Edoardo’s side that affected our son and led to his not surviving until and beyond his birth.
This must be the reason most likely behind his desertion of us to, as well as the situation would lead to my father’s subsequent in-depth investigation of his family and it’s businesses. I am sure he would have thought that he would expose the links with the Camorra and other criminal connections that would have led to my father’s arrest on matters.
I am certain that I have a respite. My father has said we have to get a notary to record Chiara’s desire to remain with her natural family and not her adoptive to ensure that she is protected legally from anything they might have in mind for her in the future. She’s old enough under the law to make such an assertion.
I have had all the locks changed, and Chiara has the new keys as do my parents. Whenever I park the Maserati now it has extra protection against being removed from the car park here. All these protections are necessary to combat any potential threat from their criminal elements.
