Definitely rude. But Gen Z and younger are raised to be glued to their phone 24/7 so be prepared to be called an "out of touch boomer"

@AstroZombie very true
would bother me too

She's not ready to be a mom.
CharityRae · 36-40, F
@CleverGirl you are so right! When she told us she was pregnant - my mom and I cried, like, sad and terrified tears not happy ones. We knew how this was going to turn out… she wasn’t ready to be a mom, she still isn’t. She is incredibly immature and it is so sad to watch. She doesn’t have her priorities straight at all & doesn’t work & doesn’t WANT to work either.
It’s just incredibly sad.

Oh, you are 100% percent correct.
Put the phone down and be present.

It would bother me. It was totally rude!

It used to be that appearing to talk to oneself out loud was a concern for therapy. Now it's 'normal'. Next time just keep asking her, 'are you talking to me?'. At least she might change locations.
CharityRae · 36-40, F
@ThisIsCrazy we did ask that - believe me 😂

It would bother me greatly
Sojournersoul · M
That would bother me to no end. You are not being old fashioned.

If that was my son (which I don’t have), I’d slap the buds off his head.
If it’s a woman, like in your scenario, after a couple hours with the buds in, I’d tell her to take the buds out or leave.

Kevin1990 · M
You are right! Very rude on her part!
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
Oh hell no..you were right. I hate it when people near me have ear buds in and are listening to music or on the phone. Most of the time I cant tell and I start talking to them...
Its just sooo rude and annoying. When she's in your home, she talks to YOU.
Glad she left. She has a lot a growing up to do

That’s definitely rude. She could’ve stayed home with her baby and camped out on the phone.
CharityRae · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard or brought her baby to us and just stayed home herself and camped out on the phone- her baby is ALWAYS welcomed here 🤗
