Was your dad a musician too?

@MisterBander not as a profession no. But he enjoyed paying guitar.
@Barracuda I would call him a musician then, you can't enjoy guitar if it doesn't sound half decent. He just never went anywhere with it. Did he make any recordings? Would be interesting to hear what doodles he was making.

@MisterBander No he didn't. Every one of us lived playing but I'm the only one who ever recorded anything. Everyone else just loved messing around with it in real time 😁 just for fun. But I took off with learning instruments but I never got anyplace either 😂
@Barracuda Haha, I am the same, I just mess around. I have both a bass and guitar and swap between each day. I have a looper on my pedal and want to record the two together, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

@MisterBander Have you got any recordings of you playing or links?
@Barracuda Nah, I have only been playing about a year. It's fun though. I love the sound of a bass guitar cranked. Can just hit one note and the room shimmies, then get into a rhythm. I am not great on the guitar, but every time I pick it up it gets a little easier. Was having fun with variations on Gun's N Roses Sweet Child O' Mine today. Learn a lick and then play it in different keys all over the fret-board, and then do some combos that go with it and cycle around, it's fun.

@MisterBander heck yeah! No worries I can't do lead, only rhythm
@Barracuda I dunno, it's like when Gusteau says "Anyone can cook", you just need to work at it.
