Appreciation Post for my Eldest Brother

Life wasn’t that good to us and it all started when my home became so toxic due to my parents’ relationship with one another.

And to make everything feel much lonelier is when my eldest brother started studying in another town - at my aunt’s.

As a kid, my 2 brothers and I were very close. We would eat together, sleep together, play together, to the point that they would bully me xD.
Sadly, we kinda drifted apart as the eldest venture out into adulthood, and left because our home was so toxic.

Recently, for the past 2 years, our bond as siblings rekindled ever since my mom and dad decided to part ways, and my little sister is still studying in college.

So we made a decision to finance her studies, and place her into dormitory so she can feel safe and not around our father (no toxicity and far from emotional abuse like the things we experienced).

Last year, I was reading some writings of my brother and how he is depressed. I thought to myself that I was so stupid to think he’s living the best life. I actually cried how he wrote the loneliness he felt when he started working with only a bag attach to his back in a new city! I was also amazed how he rose from being a person who was very lost in life into becoming one of the board of directors in a government-related department.

Anyhow, back to today, I gifted him an OUD Perfume from my trip to Singapore as an appreciation token :3. It’s something that is unavailable in our country so I find one for him.

Then I told him about my plans to start being physically active and asked if he has spare secondhand shoes. And he gave me money to buy new shoes. 🥹🥹 I was really shy in taking the money and told him I would only spend little of it - but he urged me to buy and shush me as I am not the one spending. So I took the money and buy the cheapest but functional. Then told him that the remaining money will be given to mom so she can buy some shoes, too.

We are not showy to some extent like warm hugs and all. But I am planning next week to cook for him before he go home to show how much I appreciate him.

I love and respect my brother so much even though we suck at saying it to each other (us siblings).

And I wish I could give some of my years to all my siblings so they can live longer (and happily, too).
