I was my Dad’s caregiver

. I don’t regret one moment of it. Caring for my Dad was a honor and privilege. I say “was” he passed away in May 2018. He just turned 98 in March. For some reason I wanted him to live to be 100, but God wanted him home. Looking back at pictures I can understand. I miss him so much.

Bless him.

I lost my dad in 2024 to dementia, his decline was long and gradual and he didn't suffer but watching his decline was heartbreaking for us.
Thankfully he didn't reach the stage where he couldn't remember us and he still enjoyed a laugh right up to the end.
It's only hit me recently that we will never have our regular phone calls again, never visit him, never reminisce and laugh with him about my younger days but the memories keep me strong, he was a great dad and my memories of him will be cherished for as long as I live.

I feel your pain 🤗
