Dad just called and asked if mom was here

I told him mom hasn't been here for a few years, and asked if he remembers her dying in his arms, and he just says, oh yeah I understand, and then adds, I mean your mom, and then I say that's the mom i'm talking about. And then he asks how I'm doing and I say fine. That was it, phone call over!!

While watching the 2nd lecture in the brain disorder course, mom btw was fascinated with neuroscience kind of docs that would show up on PBS and so on, and it might be highly instructive having a better basic understanding of how my dad is slipping.

One thing is that the kind of memory unaffected by brain damage is the procedural kind, where you just know how to say ride a bike or write stuff, so dad before he saw his doc who shipped him off to his current residence in the hospital suddenly forgot how to use his iPhone, but maybe he's getting phone use back with a simpler model at his disposal there.

Well back to learning, as I come across things I'll post about it so that looking back will help me remember all the neat stuff, transforming the material into the kind of things i'll remember effortlessly like riding a bike.
