Were you ever put to sleep as a kid with melatonin or benadryl?

To keep it short, when i was a kid, if my parents were tired, they would slip me a melatonin or benadryl in water or juice. Just wondering how common was this back in the days, 20+ years ago.

@Quimliqer you right on the melatonin but i think benadryl (not in that exact brand) was out for a long time fairly

@Alexa98 You’re right, invented in 1943 as a prescription medication only. In 1982 it was approved for otc sales!
