At what point did you stop seeking your parents approval?

When I moved out, 13 years ago aged 19.

I was so fed up with my parents relationship drama and how I was being treated I was glad to be free.
I just wanted to live.

I've developed myself and my life according to what I believed was right.
I don't ask my mum's opinion on anything really.

My dad passed but during the time I spent with him when he was sick I demonstrated my care for him and my commitment to being there and that was significant enough.

My grandparents I have shielded them from aspects of my life but when they've asked I don't lie. But it's always asked and answered in a respectful and relevant manner.

I'm not ashamed I just feel like it's out of respect for their Christian values.

I don't know that I ever did completely while they were living. But I'm not sure you could call it "seeking approval" as much as it was just living to be someone they could be proud of. But in answer to your question, I guess I'd have to say it ended when they both passed away even though I still carry a lot if their values, today.
