At what point did you stop seeking your parents approval?

When I moved out, 13 years ago aged 19.

I was so fed up with my parents relationship drama and how I was being treated I was glad to be free.
I just wanted to live.

I've developed myself and my life according to what I believed was right.
I don't ask my mum's opinion on anything really.

My dad passed but during the time I spent with him when he was sick I demonstrated my care for him and my commitment to being there and that was significant enough.

My grandparents I have shielded them from aspects of my life but when they've asked I don't lie. But it's always asked and answered in a respectful and relevant manner.

I'm not ashamed I just feel like it's out of respect for their Christian values.
