I can't be "reincarcerated" - as I've never been incarcerated,i.e. spent time in the joint,to start with.

That reminded me of a book called ''Fluke'' written by James Herbert, that I read back in the 80s. It was about a man reincarnated as a dog, it must have had an impression to instantly remind me of it.
