"I love you"

this one time my mom had to babysit a family member child because of an emergency and as she was trying to make this child comfortable, she was "teaching" me how to talk to her and one of the phrase that she said was "and tell her I love you"
I respond "well it sounds weird becuase I never heard those words as a child"

now, every now and then she would tell me "I love you" and it hurts because now I don't need it like when I did as a kid. wish I would have heard that more often in my own home.

I'm starting to get a bit comfortable telling some of my love ones "I love you"
