I need to gain perspective from a parent or sibling with a child, diagnosed as autistic?

I worked in healthcare so came across various patients with different symptoms under the diagnosis.
For their appointments we were armed with an array of distractions to help us get through the treatment, in the event these aids were of no use the parents/carers were the best source to help.

I would find days with more than 2 children like this tiring depending on their behaviours but I knew once finished my shift and I got home. I had some rest bite.

How do you as a parent or sibling manage your feelings, energy levels?

Would you say you still try to teach your child as many acceptable "social etiquette" behaviours if they're receptive to it?

Do you try to find ways to maintain at least some dedicated family time?

Thank you to those of you that responded with messages.
I appreciate that this is a sensitive topic and a forum like this doesn't always grant you the compassion needed.
@Mellowgirl Actually, this forum has more compassionate and empathetic people than most I've come across!
Like, the only forums that I've seen that are even better at this are Save-Point and RPG Maker Central/VXdotnet.
