lol I wish I knew why this hurt me

My mom called me fat on my wedding day , told me she was ok if I walked out , said my wedding was her worst nightmare , told people not to get me wedding gifts , didn’t throw me a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner because I didn’t have a bunch of friends to invite and because my mother in law wanted to follow some cultural traditions

I hope you can get to a place where you believe that you do not have to accept the cruel things people say to you.
It's not the same thing, at all, but I have a nephew who is a narcissist and I eventually cut myself off from him and my life got a lot more peaceful.
