Portable “highchair” for restaurants?

Yes I posted this before but I posted it in a gigantic paragraph of other questions. So I wanted to specifically make a post for just this question. My daughter is six years old and because of her dwarfism she is 1‘5“ tall and 18. When we go out to restaurants, and Clara sit at the table or booth, she isn’t able to see you over the table, and even with the provided boosters at the restaurant, she is barely able to see over the edge of the table..What should we do about this when we go to restaurants?. I would love to get her all the way up to be able to eat comfortably and be a part of the conversation, not just under the table.

It would be nice if Clara could climb in and out of this herself. I made another post asking about eating at home, but the difference here is that what we use would need to be adjustable given that it would be used at restaurants and there are different height tables. The high chairs that they have at restaurants do sort of work, but Clara is not a baby, she is 6.

id suggest a booster for restaurants that will be high enough. she would probably feel uncomfortable in a high chair at a restaurant. thatd be more portable too.

@Penny all of the boosters that are supplied at restaurants only bring her high enough we can barely see the top of her head across from us. What would you recommend for a booster that would bring her up high enough and also close enough so she can reach the table comfortably. Ideally if she could get in and out of this herself that would be awesome

@Clarashelper well, i did a quick online look and didnt see any extra high booster seats and theyre all designed fo r babies anyway. i guess youd need to make one yourslef. as far as one she could get into herself i think youre asking a little too much. just a secure booster in itself would be hard enough

@Penny different restaurants have different height table and chairs, so it would need to somehow be adjustable. And it would also need to be right up to the table so she can reach it. I’m not quite sure how it could be secured and also right up to the table both.

@Clarashelper all i can think is stack big books. thatd be easiest and cheap but theyd be heavy to carry in

@Penny The problem with that though is yes we could make it really high for her but she wouldn’t be close enough to reach the table. With the highchair at home, we have it right up against the table so she can reach, and of course we help her reach the stuff that’s too far for her. But at least she can rest her arms on the table and eat from her plate

@Clarashelper with the books? couldnt youjust push teh chair in?
Clarashelper · 36-40, F
@Penny oh yes, I was referring more to a booth. But for the chairs yes this would work. Would you have any ideas for when we get a booth?
