What are your thoughts on the trip trap highchair?

Our daughter has a dwarfism and is 1’5” tall and 18 pounds. We are looking for something to know raise her all the way up to the table while also giving her the independence and ability to climb in and out of her chair by herself. She really needs a highchair to be up at the right height, but given that she is six years old we are trying to find something a little more age-appropriate that also gets her up high enough. Does anyone have any experience with the Tripp Teapp Hi dear would it be small enough for her to fit into, while also Raising her up high enough? We also need to keep in mind the steps up into the chair, and making sure that they are close enough together that she can reach them.

What about the retro step stools?

@saintsong it’s always hard to tell based off pictures but those steps look like they would be way too high for her. And way too far apart. Same with the seat it looks like it would be oversized for her. Are you saying you have one? Is it smaller than the picture makes it look?

@Clarashelper We had one when I was a child, like 6 it sat me up to the table perfectly for a normal sized child, my aunt also had one she would use to cut peoples hair in...I don't have one now sorry. Wish I could help better.

if you got a kitchen table bench you could anchor a booster seat to it and use pet stairs to allow her to get on the bench. (if a booster would be high enough)

@Clarashelper maybe run the question by a carpenter who makes custom furniture and see if they could think of a solution?a high chair with little steps up to the back maybe and designed so she could climb over the back or side into the seat?

@Clarashelper
with little stairs somehow?
Clarashelper · 36-40, F
@Penny that would be a good idea. If we could somehow put a ladder on the back, we could put it close up to the table and with steps that are close enough together and small enough for her to wrap her hands around, that’s something to consider thank you. She is six years old though, see with a Tripp trapp highchair it doesn’t look like a traditional toddlers highchair. We’re also trying to keep her age in mind and get stuff that looks the part
