My sister is in that situation. Someone has to break that cycle, but it’s definitely difficult and filled with feelings of failure. 😔
Best of luck. 🫂

I had a similar circumstance... same zero affection at home when growing up and my first serious girl friend was always wanting to snuggle, hold hands, lots of hugging and it was the most uncomfortable thing I'd ever experienced.
I got over it fairly quickly, but she never could understand why I wasn't affectionate... the touching, hugging constantly being close, etc.

It IS difficult.
But, see it as a good thing - they will teach you😊
Humans are adapatable.
Your tolerance will go up and one day you'll find youself willingly doing it yourself.
This is a beautiful thing🤗
Been there, grew up that way, told myself id never have a family like that.
Taught myself.
Forced myself.
And now have a family that hugs🤗
Youll get there🥰

I know this feeling very well. Then they get older and aren't as affectionate and you feel a part of you die all over again.
I did as well and it was also abusive.
I am extremely affectionate myself if I am safe .

You get it. I’m sorry you get it. But this explains it 💯.

Because that rarely ever happens. We would be a incestuous society, if that were to even come close to that occurring.
And that we most definitely couldn't deal with! We couldn't allow it to happen.
Incest is probably one of the most strongest taboo, that exists in all of history. Even primitive permissive nudist societies avoid incest.

@SW-User Explain yourself better. And don't end it with such a word as that!
The ending is the most important part of a statement.

You'll get use to it. It's a worthwhile adjustment.

Feeling “touched out” is a legitimate thing ❤

Your choice of words in saying "overstimulated" is not only a poor choice of words, but has also become an oxymoron in the context you have placed it.
A person who does not like constant touching and does not like clinginess because they aren't use to it, will never become stimulated at all, let alone overstimulated when otherwise introduced to that kind of affectionate behavior.

@SandWitch it seems you and a few other readers need a lesson on context clues again.

You have a responsibility as a writer to learn how to use the English language and it's associated grammar so that what you write is also what you intend for the reader to understand without them having to speculate about it's meaning.
If the hints that you infer are there to help readers understand the meaning of unfamiliar words, then the word you are hinting at is "pedophilia" because that is the word that most readers of your post have garnered from your obtuse perception of what passes in your judgement as intelligent writing style.

"Overstimulated" ? What do you mean ? 🤔
OogieBoogie · F
@bijouxbroussard you know, like 'cant handle any more 'peopling'' - think - like autistic people cant handle too much noise or touch etc.
