Why would you do that?

In 2007, My grandfather gave my mom a HUGE amount of money so she can put it in my bank account when I'm older to have a kickstart in life. She goes to tell my father about what had happened and he tells her that he will put in MY account and not to worry. Months go by and she EXPECTED him to have kept the money as it is. ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT HE SPENT EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR. Its not about the money, but the fact that he USED MY OWN GRANDFATHER FOR HIS OWN BENEFIT IS WHATS DRIVING ME CRAZY. Matter a fact, When my mom told my father about it, HE WENT ALL THE WAY TO HIS FAMILYS HOME AND SHOWED OFF ALL THE MONEY AS IF HE EARNED IT ALL HIMSELF. He made my mom look like she is a show off and wants to brag about what my grandfather had given me which isn't true!!!! WHAT A SELFISH INDIVIDUAL.

Just a quick update: Yes my parents ended up getting a divorce in 2014, No i didn't get the money back, I asked my mom if i could confront my father but her pride and self respect wouldn't let me (please pray that i ATLEAST GET TO DEFEND MY MOMS SIDE OF THE FAMILY!!!)

My father was disgusting in terms of morals but he has changed for the better now. Still dont think i could ever forgive for such a NASTY AND GHETTO thing to do. Shame on him for putting down my mother.

First of all he didn't do it to your mother and he didn't do it to your grandfather he did it to you he stole from you.

@dale74 true he did it do it to me, but for me personally i put my mom before anyone else
I am unsure about what actions to be taken. But you should confront your dad about the money he owes you.

@SomeMichGuy exactly!! but in his defense i was only 2 years old in 2007 lol soooo i would say its my dads fault
@summalovin Your grandfather was unfamiliar with such things and could have transferred it via a series of US Savings Bonds, etc.

But of COURSE your papa is culpable, as surely as Lady Macbeth was...and both because they had too little of the milk of human kindness.

That sucks.

You have a pretty mellow reaction, considering what has occurred. Good for you. 😊👏👍
