Yes its something everyone should do. Society should never be divided into the haves and the have nots.

No one should be forced to do anything I think. They should be encouraged to share

Absolutely yes, social skills are very important for a child to learn

@BEENOV "educating" by force is actually counter productive.

@NativePortlander1970 Forcing? We are discussing a child sharing. When a child doesn't share they're forcing themselves into isolation. So what you are implying is that if you have a child that doesn't share for whatever reason is acceptable

In life there’s gonna be plenty of things they’re gonna have to do even if they don’t want to. Best to start teaching them that lesson now.

I've never forced a child to share. But I do explain carefully the negative consequences of not sharing and the rest is fairly simple for a child to figure out. Children seem to understand these questions better than most adults and it is rarely a serious issue.
Almost.
Let them understand how they share, or treat other people will ALWAYS show others far more of who and what they are, far more then it will ever show who or what another person is.
What matters truly after that point is up to you and your kid.

No because it's not sharing if it's forced. U educate them as to why sharing is important. It's an important lesson in life. Tony, scotland

Certain things they should share.
But, maybe let them earn their allowances.
And let them handle it.

No. There’s nothing wrong with having one’s own belongings.
(I say this as the oldest child whose siblings were constantly getting into my things and breaking them.)

I absolutely believe so. Social function and selflessness should be taught as a standard.

@NativePortlander1970 that's unrelated to what we are talking about.
If we punishment like spanking, yeah no. But if you ain't going to share them you go sit in your room by yourself. Kids need lessons on social behaviour

@MethDozer How many kids have you raised?
