Kids are spoiled am I right?

Overheard a mom debating and arguing with her son about a toy car. My god its your child, you dont debate with him you say firmly "no!" And end it right there. No fucking sass. Hardly a day goes by when im in a store and theres not a parent with an out of control child screaming their head off.

Kids lucky. I got a whooping if i talked back.

My kid is probably considered 'spoiled' by many outsiders. I think I can count on one hand the number of times we had a 'crying/screaming' incident in a store as a toddler, and we always immediately left and it was always explainable that the kid was over-tired, not feeling validated, or needed some food.

We've never needed to whoop.
13 yr old just got home from a school trip out of the country and the adult chaperones were telling me they were SO impressed with her politeness, respectfulness, level of engagement with the adults and just overall how amazing of a kid I had.

Guess what- turns out you can raise an amazing individual without spanking or punishment. All you have to do is recognize they're a human being with their own feelings and emotions and respect that when they're really little.

@Starcrossed never said you should whoop them, just that i was. But the mom should have put her foot down. Shes the parent shes the authority
