My paternal grandparents have provided me an inheritance

They have not gone, they are still very much alive and well, and I enjoy seeing them whenever my schedule as a postgraduate student allows me. They live in the same village as us (Papa and me) so I can literally cross the piazza and knock on their door 🚪

Despite my academic endeavours they have made me aware of my inheritance from them, and they are being very generous despite the number of grandchildren they have. I’m my father’s only child but his siblings have many children and I have lots of cousins who I have always hung out with.

My father is the same, providing for the future has always been a priority for him.

I'm a bit confused about one thing you said: that "despite my academic endeavours" makes it sound like they/your family thinks there is something wrong with your academic aims?

And nice to see you appreciating it

@ChipmunkErnie they gave her the inheritance in spite of her academic endeavors which are positive!!

@Strictmichael75 Yes, but WHY would it be "in spite of"?? Her achievements would, to me, be a reason to give her even more as a reward.
