My family name is a variation of the town where we originated, Careggine.

Careggine is a town and comune in the province of Lucca, in northern Tuscany (Italy). It is the birthplace of Italian football player Marco Tardelli and of Adriano Tardelli, one of the heroes of the Italian resistance movement.

You might have thought our family name comes from the village we now live in, Coreglia Anteminelli, but we have relatives living in France, which probably explains how it became a French-sounding name.
