Wow! For some reason i thought the waiting had got shorter...

I would rather waste an entire week in the ER/hospital with a family member and be told everything is fine vs. having devastating news about them.
Always be thankful the news is good and never wonder "what-if". Just go through life enjoying the time you have together with them, and make every moment count.

Could've been worse

I can relate to this. It’s more difficult than someone who has not been through it can understand.

@RubySoo The vital point is that you two DO it - and nobody else does.

@RubySoo 🤔may so for you but it is better too be safe than sorry i am sre the gp would of sent her too hospital without him thinking she needed too go
It´s not a waste of a day.
Would you consider it a waste of a day if you´ve gotten the opposite results ?

@Underconstruction this will make me sound very selfish, but i had plans to meet a friend. I've actually cancelled the same friend 3 times now to attend appointments with MIL. During last year i must have taken 3 months off work to fit around her appointments and almost every day off work i get im accompaning her to a doc or hospital. I go to her house ( a 40 minute walk away every evening to ensure she takes her mefications. Shes nothing but nasty to me because she feels i'm trying to take over her life. He own daughter lives a 3 hour drive away and does not work, but rarely comes to visit, so its all on me.
Irs draining, and ive already done this once with my own mum.
MIL has lots of issues going on. Yesterdays trip was basically because shes not taking her medications correctly ( for circulation). She swears she is but we find them hidden around the house. I cannot go to her house 3 times a day.....i work. She will not agree to get any sort of carers in.
Me and hubs are doing our best, but its incredibly difficult.

Those days are hard. Take care of yourself

@OldBrit ha! Little time for that! The battle at the mo is we are going on holiday in 2 weeks. Informed sister in law months ago...'ill come and stay while yr away' now shes saying she cant coz her daughter moves out the following week (???)
So, now, the sundsy before we go, hubs has got to do an 8 hr round trip to drop her off at her sisters house!
And...we are still convinced she will decide NOT to go in the end, because she dorsnt want to....and to be fair, getting ready and the journey is quite daunting for her.

Not a fun place to spend the day but glad everything’s okay.

I'd rather wait and be told all was ok rather than not know and worry.

You are a good woman. She's lucky to have you. Good nowthing is wrong
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@meggie she has many health issues, including Dementia...but....she wont accept that gets very angry with us if we mention it. But the issue the other day was an issue with her foot. Doc thought her bone had become infected......but it seems thats not the case, although we were told...'it wont show on an x ray for months, so if its no better in 6 months, go for another x ray!!'

glad to hear the good news.

Glad everyone is OK. Sadly, emergency rooms in the US aren't always the greatest, either.
