I can only talk as a married father. It was some years ago now my daughter is now 28 and on her way to being a mum herself.
But she had wayward times at about 15. First we imposed clear sanctions. Loss of Internet and phone, no clubs, grounded etc. One incident led to all 3 being imposed at once. She felt isolated from her friends and was upset at how we calmly implemented them saying why we were "disappointed".
She then asked her brother (away at uni) at the time to intercede. He wouldn't. I think that then pulled her up short. A few little incidents after that but she realised our support was more important to her.
She's turned herself into a terrific young woman now.
