Xmas In Our Household

Up early today, getting ready to head to my eldest's for Boxing Day..Big drive.

But, Christmas Day?

That was nice. We'd decided to not go crazy on presents, buying only for Hope our daughter. Instead, just concentrate on....FOOD!

So, an early morning wake-up by Hope, our 9 year old Duracell Bunny, and calming her down with a lovely breakfast - croissants, grilled, with scrambled egg, fried mushrooms and veggie bacon - and then presents.

We didn't want to go mad on presents for Hope either - end goal for her is an acoustic Guitar - as we'll get her big present for her birthday in May (contributed by the money she is saving from giving guitar lessons as well), so she has some lovely clothes and some books. Mulder, our cat, got some lovely posh cat food too!

Then we played some games whilst myself and Kaz tag-teamed into making lunch - festive nut roast, chestnut stuffing, brussels, carrots, yorkshire puds, mushrooms, roast potatoes....then there's the consuming of said food...bit of a break....then it was posh xmas pudding, with brandy cream....then the King's Speech (gotta be done in the Duponte/Durose household!)..

Then the home strait of mince pies, glasses of wine for me and Kaz (Coke Zero for Hope), 'Toy Story 4', 'Strictly...', 'Dr Who' (Brilliant!!!!), 'Call The midwife' and then what all the fuss is about in 'East Enders'...

Retired to bed, happy, full, tired....but together as a family...

Wonderful Xmas.

Hope you all had a lovely day. Round 2 to go...

We went for Mathew Bourne Sleeping Beauty, the King, Strictly, The Great Pottery Xmas throw down , the Piano. Recorded ghosts.

Neither of our sons were here. Since married, the older one always goes to his mother in law. He does not deserve that punishment.

Sounds a great Day..Our Xmas food was delish 😋.
So good,we were stuffed all day,and sacrificed steaming the Xmas pudding for another day.
Also watched You Story 4,and The Kings Speech (quite religious undertones this year I thought)and caught some of Dr Who (,he's going to do so well in that part)
Enjoy the break you lovely ladies,n hope n Mulder

@HotPizza71 Yes, he was very religious, I think this year.

Dr Who was terrific! we were totally engaged throughout.

Just landed up north in our own 2nd home again.
