Children.
Mountains.
Life near a lake.
Winters locally. The solitude of them. How the towns shut down.
Working the night shift.
Being a mother.
Living as a single. Alone.
Life. Just life.
Have a great day, Nim.

@PoetryNEmotion Spending a week in a cabin during the winter for a vacation and solitude, that much be so nice. I can’t even imagine, I’ve only watched videos. But definitely something I’d love to do. Bring enough food and water to cook with, have firewood to keep warm, and some little portable hobbies to enjoy.
@cherokeepatti Sounds great. I do not live in a cabin. But that pretty well sums up where I live otherwise. No firewood needed though. Lots of books and hobbies. And outside is always refreshing for a shot of cold air.

@PoetryNEmotion I would just love a getaway and not hear city noises (sirens, neighbor’s dogs barking, traffic etc.). And winter can be really cozy in a place like that I’m sure.
@cherokeepatti It is cozy and very lonely. After some time, it gets to me. Then I go into town or to London. See lots of people. Get my people and noise fix. Then return home again.

@PoetryNEmotion Yes I would be the same way. But a couple of weeks would be perfect I think. I don’t get out much in the winter any way.
@cherokeepatti I keep telling myself that I will get out more, but it gets so bitterly cold. In january, it can get down to minus 30 with the wind chill. I even bought some special modern snowshoes. This winter I will use them.

@PoetryNEmotion I do better when i can get natural sunlight in the winter. I worked at Walmart and a car lot and both had skylights in the ceiling at intervals. I never felt tired like my batteries were wearing out during those winters. At the university I was usually stuck inside in the winter, no natural light coming through the ceiling and didn’t go outdoors much on the job. It makes a big difference if you can get some morning sun every day.
@cherokeepatti Sure does. I get SAD in the winter. I have the light, but because of shiftwork, I cannot use it consistently. In Texas, I never had SAD. There is little sun here in winter.

@PoetryNEmotion how far north do you live?
@cherokeepatti Southwesstern Ontario. Near Lake Huron.

@PoetryNEmotion Big distance between those two. But probably less rattlesnakes and heat in the summer.
