So anything else is an aberration? Doomed!

@SW-User Well, to be fair a pair of mom and dad don't always make it as family. Divorce rate is hitting the roof. Life in the material world is tough for pairing up and raising a family. Still, some make it.

@sree251 Well, somehow I (and my dear wife) have "made it". But I truly think that love can flourish in other combinations. But then I don't believe in some transcendent Being who dictates to us and demands obedience, even worship.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User No, no transcendent Being in my world. The closest thing is Mother Nature that is not man-made. We learn from her unconsciously. She anchors human sanity.
Of course, human relationship is a matter of chemistry in any combination. But I am talking about procreation and building a nest for nurturing offspring naturally as shown by Mother Nature, and not willful desire facilitated by science.

@sree251 So anything other than "When your parents love each other, are married, and one is a man, and one is a woman" is "wilful desire facilitated by science"?

@SW-User Can you cite a specific example to the contrary for discussion?
A single woman could find a baby abandoned in a dumpster and raise it as her own. I can't define what love is? In this crazy world, the best bet is to be born in a family where mom and dad get along and love you.

@sree251 I'm simply saying that love can flourish in combinations beyond your own apparent claims and parameters.
I often witness various human beings, of all varieties and backgrounds, offering examples of love towards our world.

@SW-User Love, like God, is a figure of speech to me. I don't know what it is even though I can tell what it is not. I have not established any parameter. Just as you can grasp what is happening between you and your wife, I know what is is to grow up in a traditional family. Stronger than love between a man and a woman, in my view, is the love a woman has for her child. Maternal instinct is not taught. More amazing is the affection of a grandmother.
