Not wishing to sound cruel, I could not help but think that I'd need to know or observe the "balance" of your parents. They, without question, are the people who should ground you with the basic tools of life before releasing you in to a challenging world

@Freeranger you do not sound cruel at all. I understand they are my parents. It’s just that I feel like they shouldn’t be involved in certain things, such as how I handle my finances, the type of therapists to speak to for my mental health, etc

@MyLegGuy2020 Hey man, thanks. I think, as an adult, the rough part about starting out is having to figure out the pressures of life. Some of us have a certain acumen for it and the rest of (raises hand) learn the hard way.
Regardless buddy, your parents are, at this stage of life a check valve for you mah man. Between what you desire, and the things you need, you need to make your own decisions, but when confusion sets in, we are all blessed when we know we have that fall back line of our parents.
As long as you understand the distinction of that line, primo bud.
They cannot live your life for you....you need to take that lead but, ANY parent(s) if they are loving, giving, balanced, people will gladly sit down with you and help you draw up a map as to how you reach your objective.
My best to you bud
