I don't know how to help her

She was married off to a cripple. Her parents were poor and jumped at the first proposal that arrived.
If she had dreamed of Prince Charming, she knew it was not happening.

Her husband has a bad temper. He Passed Government support jobs provided for the handicap. Now he wanders off on wheels selling lotteries. Don't care about the family.

She works in our plantation. And works hard. She carries the burden of her family, including her husband.. She always feels the need to help people. Helps me with the garden after work.

I ask her how she is doing and she smiles and say "I have to be ok with what life is giving me".
That smile feels like a smile of resignation.

I am sad for her. Such a good woman. I wanted to do something for her.

She used to pay half of her earning as rent. And had to walk 4 miles to work. So I got her a good and cheaper place closer to the plantation.

I don't know what else I can do for her. She is a proud women. She won't ask for help.

Just sharing my tiny worries.

Most such hard hit people, make such statement out of resentment. She would not have got any recognition for any of her deed, but hurting words. Check if she has some hidden talent which she can capitalize on to make some extra bucks. And most importantly, provide her a savings account in which she can same money with you, which she can use for emergency, as the money she carries home may get snatched by her family.

This is exactly what I was thinking. She used to work at a packed food manufacturing unit. She knows to make such food. In fact she sometimes prepare snacks on order. I was thinking of getting her the necessary equipments for her to start small from her home. She could do it when there is no work.

@Renkon Great!.. make it as your business so her other family members do not interfere. Suggest venues where she can go and sell it .. or give her the infrastructure like a kiosk for her to make fresh and sell on spot.

@in10RjFox I hope I can set something up for her before I go. I won't be here on a permanent basis. So I hope there is enough time to do something. Thank you for your suggestions. It's good.
