What would you do if you said your brother's cooking sucked and he started crying?

Let's say your brother, ( 17) made something and it tastes terrible. People at the table say it is bad and he starts looking like he's about to cry- what would you do/ say?

That’s pretty shitty to tell him it tastes bad. Tell him good try, tell him how he can improve it but damn don’t tell him it’s terrible
