She’s making progress 💖

Before I adopted her, my kiddo was living with very abusive relatives, and got beaten on a regular basis. It’s been over a year, but whenever she plays with her dollhouse there is some poor pretend little Sylvanian child getting smacked and yelled at, just like she was. I was told not to comment on it and just let her express all of that through play. So I sit there listening to it and cringing so hard every time.

Today the little rabbit girl was having a tantrum and to my great surprise, she got put in timeout instead. Mummy Rabbit spent a long time trying to make her stay in timeout, and has my deepest sympathy 😁, but there was no yelling and no hitting. The whole thing was pretty much a word for word reenactment of what goes down here anytime I try to do any disciplining.

I’m so happy she is finally making the shift. Listening to her play is one of the best ways to get a glimpse inside her head and I’m relieved that she might be moving away from thinking about all the shit she went through before ❤️

And I’m sure the little rabbit family could also use a break from the trauma 😅😫
