Reconnecting with my daughter

With divorce this year came a lot of unexpected trauma. One of the biggest emotional roller coasters was my daughter not talking to me most of this year because of the marital issues between her mother and I.

Today, my daughter and I met for the first time since spring. Had an amazing afternoon and a lot of laughs.

This has been the best day for me in months. Never take for granted what you have right in front of you.

I’ve been divorced several years and it was hardest on the oldest kids. It’s been a roller coaster at times with them, so I feel what you’re talking about. Best thing I did was give my son space as he eventually came around again. Glad it’s starting to improve.

@Spumoni I feel you man. I've been divorced for 9 years now. I've got a 15 year old and a ten year old. It was hard for them and me the first year, but thankfully the ex and I have a pretty good co parenting relationship going on. I'm with my kids 4 to 5 times a week now.
