Nice Catch Up

Last week was half-term in some parts of the UK and we had mum, her wife and their daughter - my little sister - up for the week in my neck of the woods.

She'd bought a house - actually, the old family house - and was in the process of doing it up a bit.

So I got to see how that was doing and then, later, have a couple of days out with them all. It was nice. My young girls were playing with hers, all having a lovely time.

Mum gave me compliments and had a huge heart to heart with Kaz, her wife, where I was given some feedback of just how I was doing.

It's been a tough year. Giving birth after a surprised, and very unexpected, pregnancy, giving up drugs, anger issues and fights with other members of the family, estranged from one of my daughters and counselling. I have felt, and continue to feel, knocked sideways.

But, I'm still here. Still going. Kaz can see the changes and she says I'm turning into a kinder person, likewise mum; she says I look more relaxed .

Don't feel it, but, if I look more relaxed now then god, what did I look like before?
