Grandpa 10/10/20

My father got a phone call from my aunt. She was talking to my grandma. Apparently my grandpa is laying on the floor of the trailer inside. My mother called to see if my grandma needed helping moving him. She said no and she has put blankets over him and will waited out till morning. Then she will see what needs to be done. I’m am worried that he might do his business in his pants. She didn’t tell us how long he’s been on the floor for. Grandma said that the night before he was laying on the ground of trailer. She said he’s able to get up a little but then his feet buckle. She called an ambulance then. But they assessed him but didn’t see the need of taking him as he walked a little while they were there. He had had aphasia/ dementia. He is sleeping a lot more which is a concern. He hope today he is okay and things work out. But I’m going to worry until then. 😞

I hope he is doing OK?
I see this was 2 years ago though?

@Teslin he hasn’t been well for about six years. But he’s been getting worse throughout the year.

I hope and pray that he gets better soon.

I have helped care for a couple of people in my family with dementia and it is awful. Does your grandfather live far away so that 1 of you cannot go over and help him into the bed?? Either way it sounds like your grandmother needs some daily assistance.

@REMsleep She refused our help to go up and help him and get him into bed. We think maybe both don’t want us to be there in that situation. She ended up call an ambulance

@GreenNatured95 Well all familes work differently so I don't judge your actions or inaction but there is no way in hell that my grandmother can tell me not to come and then call an ambulance to come help.
She would have to call the cops too cause I'm coming in.
At a certain point very elder people can start making irrational decisions for various reasons such as pride, embarrassment, covering for situations being worse than they care to admit and sometimes they can kill themselves with this type of behavior but like I said it depends what type of relationship you and your family have with her.
You might consider next time just showing up.
