Non-stop debating

I love my parents, but their lives have literally seem to become debating each other over anything and everything, no matter how big or small...

And they do it for entertainment and do it until they piss the other one off, then need to take a mad break and then the cycles starts all over again.

Them ALWAYS debating drives me nuts, and espmy concern that bnot if, but when it'll lead to an argument sucks.

But it's whom they are now and I don't think they could change even if they wanted to...

Did it ever happen that they changed sides over the space of a few months?

Example: In January, Dad says, "I think A," and Mom says, "Nooo, that's not right, I think B."

Then in May, Dad says, "I think B," and Mom says, "Nooo, that's not right, I think A."

Or vice-versa for Mom and Dad.

@Thinkerbell Yeah/No lol

My Dad likes attacking people, and my Mom likes defending people... even when it's totally unnecessary to do so.

And my Dad definitely plays devil's advocate at times... so you could say my Dad switches sides, but in reality, he's playing all sides, and he still believes his main belief (whatever it on that particular issue).

Though some of my Dad's believes based on personal experience are also a bit of an oxymoron... as he's seen authority being overly strict but also when authority let rule breakers get away with too much.

It's not simple black and white, but a lot of gray

So it sounds as if they just like arguing for the sake of arguing (especially Dad).

Maybe they were in the Debate Club in school...? 😂

Yup! It's their version of entertainment and connecting with others...

I just don't get it, at all... talking to share and learn, sure, but why debate when you already know exactly where each other stand? Doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe they should do more research and bring up points that they haven't mentioned before.
Add a little spice to the game. 😂

@Thinkerbell nah, I think that would make it worse, and they're looking at new articles and keeping up with new parts ... but still, it comes down to the same points.
