If my mom was still here, my hub's family would have never bothered me.

They did it because they knew they could get away with it. My mom died when I was 27 so I really have no one. My hub's fam (my hub's mom mostly) has said many hurtful things to me over the years. Like how I raise my son, what I buy him , if or whether or not I believe in God (I don't but I've never told her that or anyone really because I don't care or feel a need to), and how much we, I, pay them (her) to watch my son. Maybe she didn't like me even before I cheated because she was mean to me many times and so was my hub's dad to the point that I started to avoid answering my phone at home (my landline). Now that we all have cell phones it's not a problem. But yeah.

That's horrible. Too have to deal with inlaws who aren't supportive. I guess some how in people with low IQ's they think this teaches children how to be good people.. probably like them 🤦🏻‍♂️
They are conservative too. That makes sense. @Bang5luts

@Spoiledbrat conservative in current political culture simply means, uneducated, wealthy or both.
They're not wealthy but they do okay. They own their own home. I've read that that kind of parenting style works on some kids but not all and that ideally parents should bend to their child's learning style. @Bang5luts My grandparents were also conservative and parented like do what I say and shut up. I sometimes dreaded my grandpa's company because that is how he was.

@Spoiledbrat any parenting style that teaches a child that it is ok for inlaws to treat that child's other parent like shit is flawed
