Tell me a fond family habit from your childhood.

I'll start. When I was young my old man worked trick shift. So when he was on 4 to 12 we didn't really get to see him much for two weeks. Maybe 15 minutes between us getting home and him leaving for work. Every now and then he would wake us up at 1am with a big bag of burgers and fries with milk shakes and watch a movie before we passed back out on the living room floor with fat bellies. We woke up like zombies the next day for school but for a little kid that was super exciting and novel.

My mother baked bread and made donuts every Saturday. All the kids in the neighborhood would wait with us for the donuts to cool.
My dad would take me camping every weekend in the summer to early fall.

@FreeSpirit1 same. Unless he had to work.

@SkeetSkeet Canadians put ketchup on EVERYTHING. They look at the USA and say " hold my Hunt's"
MethDozer · M
@SkeetSkeet like I thought putting ketchup on box mac and cheese was just a Kids in the Hall skit. But then I been to numerous homes in Ontario where I watched this abomination happen right in front of me.

I went with my dad on occasion for beer runs
Grandma would make brownies and let us lick the beaters. it was always best when she turned the mixer off first but you know how old people sometimes forget

Vulnerable methdozer moment. That's adorable 💙
MethDozer · M
@caccoon You know I don't think I have ever in my life had a single item from Dairy Queen. I've seen them. Walked by them in the mall, but never had anything from one.
caccoon · 36-40
@MethDozer pecan mudslide m'brotha 👌

But nah, scooped ice cream is better I think. I don't really love the texture of soft serve, and obviously it's just all pretty bad for ya XD

But I still kinda like it for the nostalgia because it was KING when I was a kid
MethDozer · M
@caccoon I prefer soft serve but my favorite flavor is pistachio. So I am eternally doomed to always gettting knly half of what I truly want.

This is really sweet 💜

I guess the moments i loved most was when my mom used to make afternoon snacks. She was always smiling and happy, and the snacks always taste so good too. Miss those times when siblings and me were living with her.

SW-User
@MethDozer yes we certainly can't do that in today's time

This isn't a habit as we only did it a few times when I was a kid. On Saturdays it was my dad's job to do something with us boys. The "boys" were me and my three other closest siblings. Sometimes he'd take us to go digging in his truck, "digging" ment of roading, and I remember one time we were along side a steep drop when it was my turn to drive and my brother looks over at me and said, "I'm getting out if he's driving." I think I was only like seven or eight. I wasn't even tall enough to steer and reach the peddles so I had to sit on my dad's lap to drive, so it's not like I was going to drive us of the cliff.
