@Souls I’m trying to figure out if I’m that bad parent if I go away overnight. My kids are 16 & 20
@Jenny1234 You know your children better than anyone! If your children know not to open the door to strangers and not to turn the stove on then I don't see a problem with leaving your kids at home alone. It would be wise to allow the 20-year-old to watch the youngest until you come back.

@Souls yes, having my twenty year old twins watch the 16 year old is the plan. They are all good kids and quite responsible. I need to think more on this though

@Jenny1234 its not exactly about age ... it's about maturity of your kidos ... will the 20yo be responsible for the 16yo ... why are you leaving them overnight ?????

@pdockal legally there are minimum ages you can leave your kids alone without facing hefty fines and jail time

It’s my 25th wedding anniversary in a few months and we are thinking about going two hours away overnight

@Jenny1234 in most cases the 20 is an adult so you should be fine but i don't know the laws where you live
