I've been trying to find my dad and all I know is his names I've tried on ancestry but can't even remember what he looks like. Anyone know how to go about this?

If you know his name, his birth date and/or place of birth or death you can find a lot of info. I typically check Ancestry first, but if you enter his name and date(s) into a search box, the internet returns tons of information. Also, if you know anyone with whom he had a relationship (wife, partner, other children, parents, you can search them and often find the info - or threads of it - in the process.
Good luck. Ancestry brought my sister and her previously unknown half-sister together and it's worked out beautifully; I hope you have similar results.
@MiraRoss Well, if you have his name and know where you were born, you know approximately where he lived during that time. You can try searching the name and location by state/country or try to narrow it down by city/borough/parish. Not trying to be obvious, but sometimes it's the things you don't think of...
