The new normal isn’t so bad.
About six months ago, I moved out of the home I had previously shared with my ex-husband and our daughter. I now live with my boyfriend and his daughter, but I see my ex and daughter nearly every day.
I’m so glad that we have been able to remain on good terms after ending our 20-year marriage. Our daughter graduates high school next year and has been able to witness our evolution from romantic partners to friends.
Not that she hasn’t been affected - divorce always affects the kids. However, we have managed to model a pretty healthy break up overall.
I’m headed over to their house soon for dinner and to hang out, watch a movie. Getting to this point wasn’t an easy journey, but it has been a success. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.
