A day for the journal...

Looks like my little sister will be staying with me permanently. Happy news for me but I’m also sad & angry for sis that she was ever in this situation. Had a meeting about it this morning and the way my aunt was treating her was worse than I initially thought and the more details that have come out the more it seems she definitely won’t be going back to her care. Her social worker wants her to stay with me and there seems to be no reason why she wouldn’t be able to. As long as she and I are both happy with the arrangement then we’re good. So... welcome home baby girl ❤️

Now to think of something special to do after I get her from school. Until then I’ll sit and consider the fact I basically have an 8yr old child now 😳

@swirlie I think I’ll try to go with what she wants and tell her she can call me/think of me however she likes. I don’t mind being her mom forever if she wants me to be her mom. I also don’t mind if she wants me to stay just as her sister. But she’s little enough that she still needs me to be exactly like a mommy so IMO my role as her sister in this situation isn’t any different to if I was being her mom. I’ll be doing all the same stuff.

But yeah I don’t want to change our relationship too much. I’m pretty chill but I’ll have to have a good routine with her in the week and then we can go wild on the weekends. I plan on making sure she is my equal as much as possible so hopefully when she is older we can have a sister relationship. Just a little closer than regular sisters ❤️
