Eh, people expose what they want you to see. To answer your question- Once I allowed myself to see them for who they are, I know them to be who they have SHOWN ME TO BE. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.

I don't feel I really knew [u]any[/u] of them, in spite of having lived with some people for 20+ years. I didn't know how to connect with their hearts and inner lives, or maybe they just weren't very forthcoming.
