Me to my brain: please let me have good dreams

My brain: um absolutely not here’s a reoccurring nightmare about a body of water and someone with “dead eyes” in the water and you’ll know it’s a dream while in the dream but no matter your attempts to wake yourself up you won’t be able to until you make eye contact and the second they make eye contact with you then you’ll wake up in a major panic attack…

In all seriousness this is a reoccurring nightmare I’ve had for years and I have no idea what it means but it makes me scared to sleep

@TexChik I have really bad ptsd dreams of my ex husband it’s awful I’m hoping eventually to learn to control the dreams

@MommaBear They did a stellate ganglion block on me because the recurring nightmare was bugging me. It's not supposed to help, but it did. 😘

Are you ever even a bit lucid during dreams?
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@MellyMel22 sometimes I know I’m dreaming but I can’t control what happens in the dream

@MommaBear If you repeatedly remind yourself you’re dreaming even when you’re aware and that it’s not real, it might keep you aware longer and eventually allow you to control them. I suffered two nightmares on repeat since I was a kid and after doing that for awhile(more than a day), I can not only control most of them, but throw myself head on into what I was afraid before to do. It’s rare I even have those nightmares anymore.

@MellyMel22 I’ll try that thank you! 🤗
