People: why are you such a people pleaser and so afraid of conflicts?

Me: *remembers every crappy thing my mom told me about my biological dad all my life, and how she'd threaten to send me to him whenever I did something she deemed bad or disagreable*

Edit: my mom made sure my bio dad wasn't part of my life anymore shortly after I turned 1.
