Do not hate what you have become. Be grateful for what you have learned.

There may be things in your past that you wish you could change. There may be choices you regret, mistakes you wish you could undo, and seasons of your life that you are not proud of. But your past does not have to become your prison. It does not define you. Every day is a new day. A chance to do better and exercise what we have learned, to enhance our life for the better.

Sometimes we look at who we are today and only see the scars left by yesterday. We forget that those scars can also be reminders of how far we have come.

Forgive yourself.

You cannot change what happened, but you can choose what you do with what you learned. Every mistake can teach you something. Every difficult season can make you wiser. Every disappointment can bring you closer to God. Even the things you wish had never happened can become part of the story God uses to shape you into the person He is calling you to be.

God is a God of new beginnings.

His mercy is not exhausted because you have made mistakes. His love does not disappear because you have failed. He does not look at you and see only the person you used to be. He sees who you can become through His grace.

The Bible tells us that His mercies are new every morning. That means when you wake up tomorrow, you are not waking up to a God who is waiting to remind you of how you made it through yesterday with him. You are waking up to new mercy.

You can stop punishing yourself for things God has already forgiven.

Learn from your past, but do not live there.

Thank God for the lessons. Thank Him for the strength you gained. Thank Him for bringing you through the things you thought would destroy you. And then take the next step forward with hope.

You are not finished.

God is still writing your story.

There are still beautiful chapters ahead.

What you have been does not have to determine what you will become.

With God, every new day can be the beginning of something beautiful. Your chance to write a new story for yourself. You should be proud of yourself for learning and applying what you've learned. That's a real blessing to be able to start again fresh every morning.
