@mindstruggle Yeah, I was traumatized as a late teen and feel sick to my stomach before and when I’m there- even just a check up lol.

Wisdom tooth extraction?

@mindstruggle A cap for a tooth I had root canaled a couple of months ago. I was told something has to be drilled and the noise alone sets my nerves off.

@mindstruggle Thanks. I’ll have to take sedatives for anything that involves the drill. Even with it I’m antsy 🤣 My dentist was like, did you say you took 2? 🤣

Damn. I once assisted in a dental surgery. Most procedures requires Lidocaine but it's like extreme stuff so 😵‍💫

@mindstruggle Forgot to say that the reason I was traumatized is not just because the dentist who held me down, but I’m resistant to numbing agents. My face will feel completely numb, but I’ll feel everything at times.

Wow, that sounds incredibly tough. I can see how that would make the whole experience even more overwhelming and scary. It makes sense that the trauma would stick when you can’t fully rely on numbing to take the edge off.
