That is very well put!
Whenever I ask for a coffee I ask in plain English, and often the response is a puzzled look and "Do you mean 'Americano'?"
My brother-in-law told me of a relative or friend who asked for a "latte" in a real Italian cafe - in Italy - and was surprised to find there was not even a hint of coffee in what he received....
