Today I learned that my mom wanted to name me “Carmelina”… 😐 and that my dad wanted to name me “Yesenia”…. 🙃 But that they settled with Ashly because it sounded more American 😂 wtf lol 💀

Yeah, the whole "more American" thing happens in all of our Mexican generations. My parents didn't teach us Spanish because they thought it would bring racism upon us. Later we find out they are going to hate us no matter what language we speak, even their language. 😂

BTW: I'm Mexican American as well. 😎
