Today I learned no woman can be a Bhudda , she can become enlightened(arguable by some) but not a Bhudda
And they were close to convince me it's a peaceful loving religion based on equanimity and love. Okay 👌bye

Yeah, there’s a lot of romanticizing Eastern philosophy at least in the United States. I can’t speak for other places. lots of New Age-y people here have very cherry picked ideas about Buddhism and Hinduism. I used to be one of them lol
I relate most to the Buddhist philosophy in a secular kind of way, but Buddhism (also there’s a bunch of different sects) as a religion has its big problems just like all the other religions.
