It was once said the pleasure of sex is 40% physical...60% mental. The pleasure center of the brain releases dopamine when one has sex. Sex is pleasurable because of dopamine. And like all drugs in the brain dopamine is addictive. If a person has addictive tendencies they are more easily addicted to the drug that makes them "feel good". So yes.............sex can become an addiction and as it does it can occupy more and more of a person's life. The constant pursuit of a new better "high".......offered by the release of more and more dopamine as one has more and more sex is cycle that is hard to break. Sexual addiction....dopamine addiction.... is a real thing and can very much take over a person's life.
