I Have Questions About Taboos

Tabooos..in various country s cultures religions regions vary as much as chalk an cheese..eg ..cats are not thought to be good in india as thought to be messengers of evil..whereas thats not so in many parts of the world..if taboos are different in different cultures so is it for regional effects or they work the same across the world?
